Going into this week there is a lot of talk about what is going on in the tropics, but how is that going to affect our region?
Tropical Depression 9 (TD9) is now seeming to stall on the coast of South Carolina and is predicted to turn back towards the Atlantic, which is good news for Virginia.
Sunday is expected to be dry, as is Monday morning. Going into mid-day Monday/Monday night is when we will begin to see the rain come into the area. That rain will stick around for majority of the day Tuesday and peak in the afternoon hours.
The rain will start to fade away early Wednesday and should remain dry throughout the week.
In terms of the next 7 days, expect to see some cooler temperatures than the past couple weeks. Due to the excess cloud cover from TD9, temperatures should not exceed the lower 70s.
