SNOWSHOE, W.Va. โ€“ Skiers and snowboarders bundled up for the cold at Snowshoe Mountain, but the coronavirus pandemic means not everything could stay the same at the West Virginia resort. โ€œWeโ€™re definitely missing a big chunk of our international workforce with the way things are right now,โ€ Cassell said. BJ Parks and his two boys spent the afternoon on the mountain and said itโ€™s a welcome relief from quarantine. If families want to enjoy a long season on the slopes everyone has to do their part. To that, Cassell says: โ€œMask up and keep your distance and do all those things and take care of each other.

SNOWSHOE, W. Va. โ€“ Skiers and snowboarders wonโ€™t take to the slopes at Snowshoe Mountain until December 4. The ski area was originally set to open on November 25, but Snowshoe officials said unseasonably mild temperatures combined with a lack of snowmaking opportunities led to the delay. Some of the snowiest winters weโ€™ve ever had got off to a late start," said Duncan, in part. Snowshoe does still plan to open its mountaintop village on November 25. The village features restaurants, shopping and mountain adventure activities.

ROANOKE, Va. - We may have just turned the clocks back, but we're stepping forward into wintry territory this Friday and Saturday. We start out each morning in the 30s, with highs Tuesday and Wednesday in the upper 50s and low to mid 60s. More clouds roll in Thursday, with the chance for a few showers later at night into Friday morning. We're talking wind chills Friday morning in the teens for some places west of the Parkway and in the 20s for most other locations. The wind will calm down throughout the day Friday, but it'll still be very cold.

First snow of the season at Snowshoe possible late Wednesday, Thursday

Read full article: First snow of the season at Snowshoe possible late Wednesday, Thursday

ROANOKE, Va. - The cold front moving through our area Wednesday may not just bring rain...at least to Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia. Now, Snowshoe is no stranger to the white stuff, especially in an instance like late Wednesday. Any remnant moisture will be forced up the mountain, causing clouds to form and snow to fall. Just how much snow accumulates is in question, due to the fact that the ground will still be wet from Wednesday's rain. Regardless, Snowshoe shared in the excitement when I originally posted about the possibility of some snowflakes to my Facebook page.
