It may feel more like summer outside, but fall fun is officially here! Sinkland Farms is kicking off its 34th annual pumpkin festival, and this year, they have even more to celebrate.

Sinkland Farm’s 3rd Annual Sunflower Festival started on Friday.

There are plenty of Easter events for the whole fam to enjoy across the region.

Sinkland Farms is known for its pumpkin festival in the fall, now they’re bringing a sunflower festival to the New River Valley.

Did you realize Montgomery County is home to two of the largest towns in Virginia, Blacksburg and Christiansburg? The Crooked Road; Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail is dotted with music venues along the route, all the way to Montgomery County. A farmBeliveau Farm Winery is just 9 miles from downtown Blacksburg, and it’s here you’ll taste award-winning wines and gluten-free beer. The Jefferson National Forest sits a few miles outside of downtown Blacksburg. And once you’re done with nature for the day, mosey on over to downtown Blacksburg, where you can find a plethora of boutiques and eateries.

The team is a highlight for the second weekend of Sinkland Farms' 29th annual pumpkin festival. New this year, there will be food trucks but Sinkland Farms made sure these food trucks have items with fall flavors. If you really want to get into the fall spirit you can top your pumpkin funnel cake with Sinkland Farms pumpkin ice cream. We even have pumpkin honey, we have honey beehives that actually pollinate our pumpkins so we have pumpkin honey,” said Sink. Virginia Today anchors Jenna Zibton and Rachel Lucas along with meteorologist Chris Michaels did a live taste-test of the pumpkin honey.

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va – As more fall festivals begin, severe weather from throughout the spring and summer could be causing a pumpkin shortage. Heavy rain in the spring and dry conditions in June and July have affected several pumpkin patches throughout the 10 News viewing area. Susan Sink of Sinkland Farms has been working around the clock making sure her farm has plenty of pumpkins for people to pick this year. She says the best time for you to pick your pumpkin will likely be in the first two weeks of October. CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - Wednesday is National Pumpkin Seed Day, and what better way to celebrate than by making plans to go to Sinkland Farms' 28th Annual Pumpkin Festival? Every fall, Sinkland Farms has a pumpkin festival for six Saturdays through Nov. 3. Activities include hayrides, a corn maze, farm animals, live music and more.
