Simply fill out this online form and the fire department will put together a video of firefighters wishing you happy birthday and e-mail it to you. “As a way to shed a little cheer during this time, we want to be able to wish you a happy birthday so it can be a little more special. Requests should be made at least two to three days in advance to give the department time to make the video.

Two pets were also displaced. Firefighters responded to the home in the 1800 block of Westview Avenue just before 9 a.m., according to the Roanoke Fire Department. They found a lot of smoke coming from the house. The fire was contained to the room of origin, but there is smoke damage throughout the house.
