NEW YORK Naya Rivera, a singer and actress who played a gay cheerleader on the hit TV musical comedy Glee, was found dead Monday in a Southern California lake. What a force you were, wrote Glee co-star Jane Lynch on Twitter. She is survived by her parents, Yolanda and George; a younger brother, Mychal; a sister, Nickayla; and her 4-year-old son. Naya Rivera was a fierce talent with so much more to do and this is such a terrible tragedy. In the preface to her autobiography, Rivera wrote that motherhood had changed her life and given it perspective.

FILE - This April 30, 2019 file photo shows actress Lea Michele at The Hollywood Reporter's Empowerment in Entertainment Gala in Los Angeles. Michele has apologized for being unnecessarily difficult on the set of the musical TV show "Glee" after a black co-star accused Michele of making her time there a living hell. She issued a statement saying that while she didn't recall any incident or judged anyone by their skin color, she was sorry and blamed immaturity. The apology came two days after former co-star Samantha Marie Ware accused Michele of traumatic microaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood. Michele is white and Ware is black. Michele tweeted her support of Black Lives Matter movement and said police violence on black people must end.
