The Kip Nininger Scholarship Fund awarded its 164th and 165th scholarships Saturday night.

More than 30 teams gathered at the Botetourt Golf and Swim Club for the fourth annual Kip Nininger Scholarship Fund benefit golf tournament, an event dedicated to keeping the memory of Kip Nininger alive.

The Kip Nininger Scholarship Fund (KNSF) will host its annual benefit golf tournament Thursday, a key event that serves as one of the organization’s largest scholarship fundraisers of the year.

Two local high school students received scholarships tonight from the Kip Nininger Scholarship Fund during the organizations third annual railyard dawg game fundraiser.

Star wrestler Parker Ferrell earns the 100th Kip Nininger Scholarship.

"Finding some good after tragically losing my son," said Chris Nininger.

Prior to region tournament wrestling at Northside, longtime referee Scott Thomason made a special dedication to KNSF.

32 teams made their way around 18 holes at the Botetourt Golf and Swim Club on Thursday to raise money for the Kip Nininger Scholarship Foundation. Nininger was a 2x wrestling state champion who suited up for Cave Spring and Christiansburg. He passed away tragically in May. With 12 corporate sponsors and over 70 hole sponsors, his father Chris was thankful for the turnout.
