The Roanoke Police Department announced Wednesday that it was investigating a hit-and-run that occurred in Northwest Roanoke Wednesday evening.

Law enforcement is searching for a wanted man out of Bedford County, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Lynchburg Police Department announced that it was investigating a “serious motor vehicle crash” that resulted in a fatality Friday.

Ricky J. Davis was arrested Saturday for a hit-and-run that left a child seriously injured in Campbell County.

ROANOKE, Va. – All that could be heard Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Fifth Street and Campbell Avenue in downtown Roanoke was the sound of cars going by. “We just plan on bringing some signs...and maybe sing a couple of songs," said Gloria Henry, who’s organizing a protest at the intersection in honor of Linda Pierson. Gallimore pleaded guilty Monday to felony hit and run and had a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license dropped. “I think things don’t get done unless people gather together and make their voices heard," said Roanoke RIDE Solutions Director Jeremy Holmes. Friday’s protest is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – State Police are investigating a crash after a trooper was hit in his car. Police say it happened at 10 p.m. Friday on Route 11 in Botetourt County. A white Dodge pick-up truck was traveling north on the road when it hit the trooper on the right side of the state police car. Damage to the suspect’s car will be on the right side and will include the right headlight and fender. Witness’ at the scene say the pick-up truck drove away after hitting the trooper’s car.
