A cat confirmed to have rabies was found in Roanoke County. VDH is asking anyone who may have been exposed to contact their doctor and their local health department.

The Virginia Department of Health reported a cat had tested positive for rabies in Pheasant Run Circle in Southwestern Roanoke County on Tuesday, July 30.

NATURAL BRIDGE, Va. – One small cat gets to live another day thanks to a few volunteer firefighters. On Wednesday, the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department responded to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Campground to get a cat out of a tree. Crews arrived and within minutes brought the cat to safety.
