ROANOKE, Va. โ UPDATE: At 2:45 p.m., the National Weather Service canceled the flash flood warning for Roanoke, Salem and parts of Roanoke County.
A flash flood watch remains in effect until 2 a.m., weโll pass along any additional advisories or warnings if they get issued.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the cities of Roanoke and Salem, as well as parts of Roanoke County on Monday at 12:20 p.m.One to 1.5 inches of rain have already fallen in the warned area, so flash flooding is likely ongoing or about to begin, according to NWS.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, Bent Mountain, Cave Spring, Poages Mill and Roanoke Mountain.
