WATCH: Virginia Tech students protest school’s decision to roll back DEI programs

BLACKSBURG, Va. – In Blacksburg, Monday afternoon, approximately 40 Virginia Tech students and residents protested the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors’ decision to roll back DEI programs, specifically the dissolution of the Ujima and Lavender House Living Learning Communities.

The Board of Visitors met at the Innovation Campus in Alexandria on Monday, and the closure of the two living learning communities is set to occur at the conclusion of the 2026 spring semester.
