CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.Update:

UVA issued an “All Clear” alert after an extensive investigation into the incident at Shannon Library. Police have identified no evidence of an attack or a threat on UVA Grounds or nearby. Investigation into the false report is ongoing.

Update:

The University of Virginia sent out an alert at 3:41 stating that at this time there was “no evidence of an active attacker.” UVA said that police are on the scene of Shannon Library, continuing to investigate. The alert also said to continue to “RUN-HIDE-FIGHT.”


Original:

The University of Virginia said an “active attacker with a gun” was reported in the Shannon Library area of their campus on Monday afternoon.

UVA’s Department of Safety and Security issued the alert around 3:05 p.m. on Monday. University police are currently on scene investigating.

The university has warned those on campus to “RUN-HIDE-FIGHT.”
