FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – The 3rd Annual Rocky Mount Fest brought in over 10,000 people to not only listen to local musical acts, but also experience what makes Rocky Mount special.
Visitors got to listen to 18 different bands across five different stages, all while getting to enjoy local food and beverages.
“We have country, rock, blues, soul, gospel, old time bluegrass, there is just something for everybody.”
Rocky Mount Cultural and Economic Developer Daniel Pinard
Not only did locals come to the festival, but it also brought in hundreds of people from outside of the area, which helps grow the reputation and economy of the town.
“They’re being introduced to Rocky Mount, they show up for the festival and they realize there is so much more to do than in just one day."
Rocky Mount Cultural and Economic Developer Daniel Pinard
However, local resident Rayven Altice believes that the tourists will not only get to experience the local music that Rocky Mount offers, but also the kindness that they can only get from Rocky Mount.
“The camaraderie of this county. Everybody is just so friendly and nice. All of the locals out here doing what they do best and enjoying themselves, everybody having fun and listening to some good music.”
