LYNCHBURG, Va. – Neighbors in Lynchburg came together on Saturday in a spirit of unity against violence.
The fourth annual Community Care Day at the Diamond Hill Day featured live music, dance performances, speakers and food. Organizers with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation said the idea came about after an act of violence stunned the community.
“And so it was Mz. Micky and I’s idea to have this event where the community can come together where we could foster that sense of peace and togetherness, let the whole community know that we can come together and stand above violence.”
