Excel Center to welcome first adult high school students, offer diploma and life skills training

ROANOKE, Va. – Virginia’s Excel Center at Melrose Plaza will welcome its first adult high school students next Monday.

State leaders, including Gov. Glenn Youngkin, will be in Roanoke to honor the students and faculty.

These students will be the first in Virginia to return to high school to earn a state-recognized diploma.

The program offers courses designed to build skills for life beyond the classroom.

To support students, the Excel Center provides free on-site childcare, personalized life coaching, and job placement assistance.
