Roanoke, VA – Sunday evening UPDATE:
While the start of the work week may have a couple of showers to dodge (mainly in the mountains), a better chance for rain will come mid-to-late week into Easter weekend. And the rain is needed as many of us are still in a moderate (brown) or severe (orange) drought.
Monday will start dry, but a couple of rogue showers may impact areas along and west of the Parkway during the afternoon hours. Most of us will stay dry as we begin the work week. It will also be a warmer day under a mix of sun and clouds.
After a chilly start to the day, we’ll get into the 60s quite quickly later in the afternoon.
While we’re nice and dry for the start of the week, the rainfall towards the close of the week appears likely to return in pretty widespread fashion. That comes along with MUCH warmer temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s.
There’s a chance for a few thunderstorms at the end of the week with some of these warmer conditions, but no severe weather is expected.
