Two residents displaced after house fire in Roanoke CountyROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ€“ Two Roanoke County residents have been displaced after their house caught fire Friday night. At about 7:45 p.m., Roanoke County Fire and Rescue responded to the 8500 block of Summer View Drive in the Hollins area for reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, crews found fire and smoke coming from the front corner of a one-story home. Officials said the two adults inside the home were able to escape unharmed. The two residents were displaced and are staying with neighbors, according to the fire department.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ€“ Two residents are going to be displaced after their house caught fire Friday evening, according to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue. At about 5:40 p.m., crews said they responded to the report of a house fire in the 5800 block of Maywood Avenue in the Ft. Lewis area. Two adults were in the house at the time of the fire and they were able to evacuate. Officials said one of the residents sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital while the other was treated on the scene. The two residents were displaced and will be staying with their family nearby, according to authorities.

RICHMOND, Va. โ€“ At least three dozen Virginia residents have been prohibited temporarily or permanently from having firearms or purchasing them based on a new state law letting courts decide they would be a danger to themselves or others. The โ€œred flagโ€ law creating the petition for substantial risk orders began July 1. The Richmond Times-Dispatch cited the Virginia State Police in reporting 26 temporary and 10 permanent orders were issued in July and August. The Democratic-controlled General Assembly passed another gun-related restriction this year. Gun rights groups argue the law violates the Second Amendment.
