ROANOKE, Va. – Originally launched to help provide appointments for those 65 and older, now any adults in Phase 1a and 1b can call to make a COVID vaccine appointment. Those living in the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts who are eligible to be vaccinated can now call the dedicated hotline at 540-613-6597 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to schedule an appointment. ROANOKE, Va. - The National Weather Service canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Warning shortly after 4:45 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Roanoke and the surrounding areas that expires at 5:15 p.m. Specifically, the warning covers the cities of Roanoke and Salem, as well as Roanoke County and parts of Craig and Botetourt counties. At 4:08 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located over New Castle, moving south at 15 mph with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, as indicated by radar. Hail damage to vehicles is expected, as well as wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Vulnerable House Democrats privately met with Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday to air out their views about the impeachment process with some still resistant to the notion about impeaching President Donald Trump. Rep. Angie Craig, a vulnerable freshman Democrat from Minnesota, who said earlier this week that she supported the impeachment inquiry said Pelosi and Democratic leaders mostly listened to the views raised by the lawmakers. Rep. Matt Cartwright, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, told CNN that he wouldn't -- at this point -- vote for articles of impeachment. Rep. Anthony Brindisi, a freshman from New York, who has resisted calls for an impeachment probe, told CNN that he's "not yet" there on impeaching Trump. More than half the members of the US House of Representatives have said they support an impeachment inquiry, according to a CNN count.

"Around 10:30 a.m., the mail carrier dropped off the mail in front of me," said Craig. A few minutes later, Craig got her mail and noticed something. One of her envelopes was sliced open on the side. Postal supervisors told Craig her card went through multiple locations, before ending up at the Clairemont post office for delivery.
