The Library of Virginia brought its mobile programming van, LVA On the Go, to the Bedford Public Library System’s Forest Library, 15583 Forest Road, Forest, Virginia, on Wednesday, April 9, from 12 to 4 p.m.
Elementary schoolers at Margaret Beeks Elementary School in Blacksburg got to participate in the “Beeks Book Garden” on Monday!
The board is not removing any books from library shelves but want anyone under 18 to be accompanied by an adult.

ROANOKE, Va. – The weather was gloomy across the Roanoke Valley on Saturday, but children in Northwest Roanoke still found a way to have fun outside. Roanoke Public Libraries hosted its annual Melrose Fall Festival Saturday afternoon. The event took place outside of its Melrose branch since all Roanoke libraries are still mostly closed to visitors. The festival also showcased the Kiwanis playground next to the library, which opened less than two months ago. Cox believes the library and the playground combine to make an essential outlet for kids, especially during COVID-19 and virtual classes.

Having Harry Potter himself read them to you, of course! J.K. Rowling is gathering up some of her famous muggle friends to bring fans the ultimate Harry Potter quarantine entertainment. The entire first book in Rowling’s wizarding series, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” will be available for fans to listen to, and each chapter will be read by a different celebrity once a week, starting off with Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter. The site is full of puzzles, quizzes and articles that focus on everything Harry Potter and Hogwarts.
