The Salem Police Department announced Tuesday that officers made several arrests Sunday morning and charged three individuals with multiple counts of thefts and other crimes.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had arrested a woman and a wanted man is still at large after a vehicle pursuit on Tuesday.

The Roanoke Police Department announced they have arrested multiple individuals as part of their Operation Summer Shield initiative with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced that the Virginia Homeland Security Task Force passed 500 arrests this week. The VHSTF is a “federal-state partnership established by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat transnational organized crime, gang violence, and immigration violations across the Commonwealth.”

On Feb. 28, 2025, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with local law enforcement, conducted Operation Hide and Seek, leading to the arrest of seven individuals.

Two people were arrested on charges of trespassing after everyone was asked to clear the school board chambers.

RICHMOND, Va. – Police have arrested individuals who violated the newly imposed curfew in Richmond. Ralph Northam authorized a curfew for the city that began tonight and will last until June 3, going from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.Police had said Sunday night that at least two dozen people had been arrested, but news outlets reported Richmond police Chief William Smith updated that number during a news conference Monday, saying a total of 233 people had been arrested. Smith said more than half of the people who were arrested did not live in Richmond. While curfew is in effect, people must remain in their homes and may only leave to seek emergency services or travel to/from home, work, or places of worship. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports police used tear gas and pepper spray on demonstrators, who started marching downtown from the defaced Robert E. Lee statue shortly after the curfew took effect.

– The Minneapolis officer who was seen on video kneeling on the neck of George Floyd, a handcuffed black man who died in custody after pleading that he could not breathe, was arrested Friday. The arrest comes after three days of protests, which escalated in violence as demonstrators torched a police precinct that had been abandoned by officers. Walz said the state would take over the response and that it’s time to show respect and dignity to those who are suffering. Walz said the state was in a supporting role and that it was up to city leaders to run the situation. As Frey continued, a reporter cut across loudly with a question: “What’s the plan here?”“With regard to?” Frey responded.
