Early-Morning Tractor-Trailer Fire at Averitt Express

10 News arrived on scene as crews were working to clean up

ROANOKE, VA – A fire broke out near the Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport early Sunday morning. It happened at the Averitt Express facility.

Our newsroom received a tip around 2 a.m.

When our crew arrived, they learned a tractor-trailer had caught fire.

The fire was already out by the time we got there, but crews were still on scene cleaning up and investigating.

Right now, we’re working to learn what caused the fire and whether anyone was injured.
