Due to the significant amount of ice and snowfall in our region, driving is currently very unsafe. Virginia State Police advises drivers to stay mindful of VDOT trucks and emergency rooms when on the road.
Many crashes have already been reported across the region.

State police said they have responded to 506 crashes statewide during the storm as of 4 p.m. Monday. 38 of those crashes involved injuries, along with two fatal crashes
Here is a breakdown of crash reports in our viewing area, with a total of 179 crashes and 17 injuries:
- Central/Western Virginia/Appomattox: 51 crashes, 7 with injuries
- Southwest Virginia: 70 crashes, 5 with injuries
- Western Virginia/Roanoke: 58 crashes, 5 with injuries, one fatal
